Every QR code falls into one of two categories. Most people don't notice the difference until their codes stop working.
Static QR codes (what we generate)
- The destination is embedded directly in the pattern of squares
- Scan goes straight to your content — no middleman
- Cannot be disabled by a third party
- Work forever, even if this website disappears
- Cannot be edited after printing — which is what you want
Dynamic QR codes (what other sites push)
- The QR points to a redirect URL owned by the QR provider
- Every scan passes through their servers — they see who, when, and from where
- The provider can change the destination without reprinting
- The provider can also disable your code at any moment
- Require a subscription; stop working when you stop paying
