What is an email QR code?
An email QR code encodes a mailto: URI — the same format you'd find in an email link on a web page. When scanned, phones open the user's default mail app with the To field, subject, and body already populated. It's supported universally on iOS, Android, and most third-party mail clients.
Static email QR codes are the right way
An email QR needs no server-side logic, so there's no reason to make it dynamic. Yet many generators still route email QRs through their redirect servers — a pure dark pattern to justify subscription fees.
